Chul - London

What is your education?

I graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting during which I worked full time for a global company in the Consolidations department. After I became a Certified Public Accountant, I moved out of accounting and into a financial systems implementation role.

What is your job at Addedo?

My role has primarily consisted of Cognos Controller implementations. I ensure that business requirements are met and preferably exceeded.

What tasks have you done the last year?

I’ve led two Controller implementations – one for a hazard detection and protection company and the other for a FTSE 100 insurance company. I also assisted Addedo AG in Zurich, Switzerland for three months with a Cognos BI project at a large energy company.

What do you see as Addedo’s competitive edge?

Two things come to mind immediately: knowledge and flexibility. Addedo consultants have a vast knowledge of Cognos products. I know that if I’m at a project and don’t know the answer to a client question, I can pick up the phone and get the answer from a colleague. Having worked closely with Cognos’ parent company, IBM, I know how it can sometimes be frustrating for clients (and consultants alike) to be hindered by pending paperwork or approvals. Being a small company, Addedo has the ability to accommodate customers where some of the larger consultancies stumble.

Do you have a possibility to develop your assignments and ideas in current work?

Yes! If a client has a few unique business requirements that I nor my colleagues have seen before, it presents itself as a clean palette. I’ll work with the client to develop an ideal solution.

How do you perceive your work?

Every large company needs to consolidate and issue financial results. Controller is a product that enables them to do this accurately and efficiently. As a consultant who bridges and reduces the knowledge gap between the customer and the application, I feel that my work adds a great deal of value.

How do you perceive your personal and professional development at Addedo?

I’ve grown in both aspects, particularly professionally. Prior to joining Addedo, my work experience was on the client side of implementations using a Controller competitor’s suite of products. I’m now on the consulting side of projects and have added a number of Cognos products to my knowledgebase.

Would you recommend anybody to work for Addedo?

If the candidate works diligently, takes pride in their work, and views their customer facing role as a reflection on both him/herself as well as Addedo, I couldn’t recommend this company highly enough.
